I've never noticed it before so I just want to be sure its ok... everything is working fine but there is heat around that socket.

Anyone else who uses the ac adapter primarily notice this?

EDIT*** Holy crap.. I must have kicked the adapter with my foot and I accidentally switched it to 4.5... instead of 3... there seems to be no damage...
but OMG. I am so lucky...

4.5 volt isn`t really dangerous, Even for the GP32. But, You were lucky it wasn`t the polarity switch (+/-), Then it would have been bye bye GP. ;)
I know from experience  .

Just by way of interest (I know its unrelated) I once plugged an 18v laptop plug into the back of a 9v synthesiser by mistake. It made the most amazing noise but when I put my face near the source of this sound I had a split second to realise it was actually coming from the socket and not the speaker before it sparked and exploded in my face with a pop, causing me to fall back in shock and twist my ankle.
