The File System - Is Everything Except /media/ Stored In The Nand?


Thanks, sebt3. One last thing I'd like to have explained is what exactly do all of those other folders in /media/ do:
card
cf
hdd
mmc1
net
ram
realroot
union
None of them seem to be related to external drives (as far as I can tell), which would mean that
/media/<devicename> is external drives (be it USB or sdcards)
isn't strictly accurate.

I'ld guess that these are just default template directories created by the OE team for convenience.

/media/ram is a ramdisk. You can write files to it that will be stored in RAM. Try not to fill it, programs need that RAM too.
The rest are empty and not mounted to anything. They're also on my BeagleBoard, so probably templates that Angstrom itself sets up. You can delete them if they bother you.
