If you are adjusting what you should be adjusting, What you call a screw is a trim potentiometer which has a Phillips head adjuster.
 
My poblem is that, while reading the GD-ROMS (specially crazy taxi) sooner or later games like sonic adventure, crazy taxi and Metropolis Street Racer either glitch out to the point everything stuters or gets frozen however with crazy taxi it is even worse and weirder.

However that doesnt happen with some games like sega rally, sega gt or capcom vs snk, so I really wanted to try to turn the potentiometer but I had no luck and there wasnt even any vernish on my model, the screw is shapped in a really odd way, and every screwdiver I had at my home didnt fit enaught to turn the damn thing.

This is what happens with my crazy taxi GDRom every single time I play it sooner or later this glitch appears
