Hi.

MY PC has the annoying habit of providing power to usb devices after the PC has been shutdown. This means my Optical Mouse remains on and my lighted keyboard also remains on which is a big pain.

At the moment i just switch it off at the socket but sureley there is a way to fix this problem? :(

That is extremely odd behavior. All of my computers stop providing power to USB devices when turned off.

Are you connecting it directly to the motherboard )(IE, in the back of your PC) or the front, or through a PCI card?

Are you using an external USB hub?

Also, is this a laptop, and are you doing Suspend / Hibernation instead of complete Shut Down?

And finally, what is your operating system?

Hi.

I'm using Windows XP Prof

I'm plugging straight into the motherboard USB ports.

and it's a gigabyte motherboard.

The motherboard is supposed be able to provide power to the devices as you are able to turn the PC on by typing a password on the keyboard but even turning all these options off in the bios has no effect on the problem. :(
