Hi all

I used to plug my PS2 paddle and a noname USB pad on my USB HUB and everything works like expected.

Since a few days, my Hub is not reconized and all my joypad failed to load.

That what I get when I plus my HUB on my Debian laptop :

$ lsusb

And now on the Pandora :

$ lsusb

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

I try to enable/disable USB-host several time, but nothing more than this single line comes out of lsusb...

The power is here, I can see the light on my hub, but that's all.

I'll try to plug a USB 2 device to see what happen...

grrr ! I finally got the Tv-out cable and I can't use a gamepad.....F*@#!k !

Have you rebooted recently? Looks like the USB host crashed and the only way to recover is a full power cycle.

Thanks for your quick replys,

Reboot did not help, I already tried few times.

I try to remove the battery for 5minutes, sadly that did not help neither, should I try more time, like all the night ?

If you removed the battery for 5 minutes then I doubt leaving it overnight will make any difference.

Other than what you've done the only thing I can think of is to try reflashing the firmware.

Just to be sure, I take it the hub does work correctly as well as giving the expected output on the laptop?

Good luck :)

If a plugged device makes the port moving, it may be desoldered. I've seen this once.

The output of dmesg would also be very useful. Remove the battery for 5 minutes just to ensure everything is completely clear, start it up, plug in your hub, and then type "dmesg" into a terminal and see if there are any errors.

I try to plug a 8Gb usb key on the pandora, it usuallly works, now it don't.

I think it's a hadware thing....

So after a fresh reboot, I plug my hub with my pad pluged in, the hub also feature 3 usb ports, and 4 type of cards reader.

Then I've enabled USB host.

And this is the dmesg and lsusb output :

ptflbx-pandora:~$ dmesg

It's strange, the hub is present in dmesg but not the gamepad.

I confirm that evertything works as expected if connected on my laptop.

Next step will be flashing the firmware, I guess...

The hub is found, nothing after it. You say you plug in the hub with the gamepad already connected? What does dmesg report if you plug in the hub and then plug in the gamepad?

This is one of the internal USB devices. Please post the result of "cat /proc/bus/usb/devices" to find out if it's the OTG or the standard device.

It's a plug problem, once I put my pandora on the table, I've seen my gamepad appears in dmesg and disconnects shortly after.

Then, moving the cable make sometimes things works for few seconds, but it's way too sensible to be usable.

I try to change the cable between the hub and the pandora, not better.

Now screwdriver and soldering iron appears to be the solution. I'am not comfortable with soldering...I will open it and see if I feel in the mood to try the surgery.

News :

I finally open my Pandora to check the USB soldering, everything looks fine but I spend few time to re-solder the port.

Then I closed the Pandora, put back the battery and test, and.....not better, USB is still not operational.

Playing with the USB cable make it works sometimes, so I use a tiny screwdriver to bend all the metal part to make sure they assure the contact inside the USB port.

Now it works again :D
