Yeah, it looks like you are right about that. I just knew I could use it on my N800. So maybe if someone does port Maemo (which *is* open source) over to the Pandora, then it could work.
This would presume that you're going to have the Maemo versions work in lock-step, which may/may not happen. Having said this, Gizmo's intrinsically GAIM with SIP bolted onto it. There's other answers and you can even make them all work nicely with the Gizmo Project server farm (Since it started out as SIPPhone anyhow...)

Are all open source SIP apps that will work directly with things over at the Gizmo Project in an open manner- and there's more than just that available...
