We have windmills, cheese and roses. Nothing special.
Don't forget about tulips, wooden shoes, and legal pot.

does a usb camera exists? not a webcam, just a small camera stick thingy i plug into my pandora.
Yes
They typically run about $80-$100, and may use proprietary drivers that won't run in Linux (or on ARM, at least). I'm sure people will start seriously investigating this once they've got their Pandora.
If you want to get started investigating, I just did a google search for "high definition usb camera"
microsoft prices. digital zoom and 1,3 megapixel for 80 dollar...wow.
I search something of like 60 dollar, and with 3 megapixel at least.

i'l search, thanks. :)

If you are willing to pay $60 for something like that, then you really could buy a simple compact point and shoot camera. They will all suck while taking photos inside (some more than others), but you will get pretty decent results outside. Some even support remote shooting, so you can connect them to a pc (or maybe even the pandora) and control them as a webcam.

Is it the demand to have some, or are we demanding on foisting them on an unwilling public? LOL.

I think it'd be great if we could have some community wallpapers that represent the world - visibly, recogniseably. Pyramids and such from egypt, the grand or Bryce canyons, eiffel tower, so on and so forth - something typical or representative of as many countries as possible. I've put up a couple of English/London icons, maybe I can dig out a photo or two from France, but how about everywhere else? What will be a recongiseanle feature of YOUR part of the world - and can you take a "good" photo of it "for the cause"?

One pyramid coming up.

Feel free to edit / crop / add a logo / whatever.

As for the ongoing discussion about cameraphones, you will never take a professional looking image with a lens the size of a pinhead, no matter how many mega-pixels.

You want quality images get quality glass.

BTW, where's Pandora-tan? Any OS or platform with respect for itself needs its own manga mascot....
Myself and a friend are working on some at the moment, but is there really any interest in one? I looked up an old thread asking for such a thing and the interest level seemed pretty lukewarm, and a little hostile in some cases, iirc...

Indeed I did, but with a different one. The others are taken with a D5000, that one was with a Photoshop.

S-r-ex, where and when did you take those pictures? The weather looks excellent for gliding!
The pic with the kite is taken somewhere late August/early September at Birkeland, Norway, way down south. The rest are scattered across these past six-seven months and over the rest of Norway and London.

EDIT: More pics coming right up!

EDIT2: Here they are!

@S-r-e-x
Nice work one those, I can't think of how to GIMP them...

This is a scaled down verson of what I've been using as a desktop for the last few years. I love HDR photos.
