I discovered when double pass encoding a Simpsons episode that when changing the audio file type, it had an error and would not encode with xvid for some reason, so I had to go with lousy divx 4.12. <_<
Lousy divx 4.12? How's it lousy? Also, you shouldn't, IMO, be using double-pass. I recommend that you use 1 pass and 128kbs, it looks as good as double pass but takes half the time.
Thanks I'll try that. Also I have got episodes of Dogtanian to around 20-24MB (they are around this length in time also). Usually when you see vdub doing its encoding and the video stream is between 13kb and 16kb a sec then its on the right track
Divx 4.12 may not be the "greatest" at compression any more but in GP Cinema I have no problems with it.
it depends on WHAT you want to encode.
(by the way, you can only use one kopie-build, file is called XviD-04102002-1.exe)
on real live movies two pass xvid looks a LOT better.
i had my problems with encoding to divx 4.12 at 15 fps -
no problem with two-pass xvid, and you can also set how large
you want the video-file to be.
if you have the horsepower or want quality,
do xvid two pass (and experiment with gamma settings, raise the volume of the sound, and crop letterboxes)
