I wonder, are the backgrounds dynamically generated?

Yes, they are.

Awesome game! I love it! I've played it once and already I'm wanting to pick my GP2X up again and play it some more. The patterns for the dots are very well thought out. One suggestion I have is for the high score entry: could you make it so that holding the joystick up or down for a few seconds automatically moves you through the alphabet quickly?

I wish there was more homebrew like this out on the GP2X. Emulators are nice I guess but I mostly got into the GP2X to play original games like this.

one again I´d like to express my biggest respect for what you are able to code, dzz. this is a lot of fun! definately my most favourite game. 217 points so far! i really wonder what you will present as entry for the gph coding contest, if it`s not zooov.... and when can we expect the next level ?!?!

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely make sure that Level Two has that feature.

I think that as time goes by you'll see more and more original homebrew coming out. It took a while for people to start getting used to coding for this device, and writing an original game takes some time. I know there are a lot of very interesting projects going on that people have posted teasers about.

217 is better than I've ever managed!

I decided that I got tired of trying to puzzle out the rules and intent of the GPH competition (plus the time is kind of short now), so I'm going to skip the contest. I'm not really interested in developing commercial games anyway. I hope some good stuff comes out of it though!

As for the next level, I was originally thinking of a level a month (sort of like a magazine), so probably in August.

what better could happen to the community if dzz DOESN`T want to become gph`s highly paid star-coder.... ;)

Awesome backgrounds... Could you do palette cycling to make them psychadelic?

Thanks! I'm not going to talk about the feature of future levels, but you may not be surprised :)

This game is too awesome.

By the way, Dzz, do you use all 16 directions?
Thanks!

No, I use "Case 2" to help make it a little easier to fly directly left, right, up, or down.

Dzz, what about Vektar-style graphics for this game?
Thanks for the suggestion, that would be pretty cool. I spent a lot of time getting the graphics to look exactly the way I imagined them, though, and I think I'll stick with the concept as it is.

Devs get little enough feedback. I think letting Dzz know his work is appreciated qualifies as a good reason. What happened to him - have not seen on the boards for a while ? Not enough feedback maybe ?
