Bugs and Calculations

Hm, the problem was only with the 4G module?
Maybe we should switch back to 3G for the first batch (it'll be 20 - 25 EUR cheaper as well)
Yeah, remember? The PHS8 was worldband, but the PLS8s have two different ones. Of course I want 4G, but if that can't happen I will be fine with 3G. But it's also not fair of me to ask everyone in the first batch to settle for that.

I have a similar question. In order to do targeted money-saving, I already bought some gift vouchers at Dragonbox. (but much lesser, would just be a part of the downpayment)
So although you already have that part of profit, it would may be complicated to include it in your calculation.
So should I also better wait to use them for the final payment?

That shouldn't be a big deal, you can use them anytime you want.

I would go for a 3g with world band. I can see myself using GPS sometimes on my pyra.

Will the 4G us version only have us 3g too?

If you find the time, after the power issues are resolved, can you run another series of tests on normal and extreme use cases as far as battery life and thermal readings?

Not sure if it will change much of anything, but it would be good to know.

Well, for whatever my opinion is worth, I hope the first Pyras aren't just 3g. Even though I'm currently in the u.s. I was looking forward to purchasing the Pyra with the 4g international version module (compatible with Europe, Asia & Japan, etc. ). That way I'll be all set when I (eventually) move abroad.

Please, don't downgrade to 3g. I'm really not interested in going to the USA - I swear. And iff I should ever end up there, I'll get myself a burner.

If he did do it only the first batch would be 3G. Does the EU 4G one support US voice only networks? If so I'm fine with that. I was hoping to be able to get rid of my phone and carry less stuff.

Woukd it be possible to get a mix of different chips in the 500 MOQ order? Or buy 500 US ones and resell some?

yes, the 4g EU version. I believe it was mentioned awhile ago that the 4g EU version would work pretty much everywhere besides the u.s. . That is what I meant.
OK, so the EU 4G module would be compatible with the Australian 4G mobile broadband spectrum? That's what I'm wondering about.

Wire transfers are often slow and not really reliable for international users as they cost a lot more, PayPal / Credit card payment works best and is more secure. We wouldn't want ED to suddenly turn into Craig!

Paypal are asshats that will freeze your account for 3 months for no apparent reason whenever they feel like it, usually at the most inconvenient of times when you really need the money. I can see why no business owner would want to touch them with a 30 foot pole.

exciting times indeed, can't wait to get open source FPGA tools working on this beasty FPGA's you can actually program in the field....!
then of course there's games and (hopefully) Void Linux to get working ...ahh happy hacking ahead!

...void on the pyra would bei great.

Because they want to protect buyers and make sure they aren't getting scammed? It may seem worse for the seller, but the extra buyers may be worth it. As someone that uses PayPal for purchases, I appreciate some of what they do. It would be nice if they didn't put such tight restrictions on what can be sold, though.

... and AFAICT it seems to be fully automated with normal customer service being unable to do anything about it.

edit: seems that ED is not a 'normal' customer, so everything is fine:)
