Gpx2 Unvailed!!

64Mb for neogeo? ;)

It does indeed have a dual CPU set up, both on paper can goto 250mhz, not sure how 2 x 250mhz on two AA batteries will fair.

I'm sure you will work out for yourselves the power potential with that combined with the 2d hardware + extra ram and fast storage memory.

that could amount to psp outstripping performance, especially for some emu's. PSX anyone?

i know it is 2 different console but do you think the GPX2 couls have game like the DS (i mean the graffic), afer all the ds has a 66MHz and a 33MHz cpu ...
snes should not be a problem now, first thanks to the ram (can run the 8Mb+ rom) and second thanks to the cpu : transparancy should not be a match for them ....

Do you have any knowledge of the wireless features? It doesn't appear to say anything on the site.

If it was Wifi, in theory, could homebrew on the PSP or the other GP32 II link up to homebrew on this?

Actually WIFI wouldn't be as daft as you think, running linux you may be able to easily get a front end like a basic Redhat or something, then you will have a browser !!!! Imagine surfing the net with your GP!!!!

i think wifi would be pointless.  There's no mention at all of commercial stuff, just emulators.  If there is commercial stuff, they won't sell enough untis/games, to warrant doing like a psp infastructure mode, so just have an RF thingy like the GP32 for multiplayer games.  Also keeps the cost of the unit down.
The thing is with WIFI, you can play multiplayer via the internet. You are far more likely to meet somebody on the internet with another unit than anybody you know personally. An RF unit is far more pointless because there would be nobody to play against.

Your forgetting this is a Korean system and more than likely will be released only in Korea for a long time, just like the GP32. So RF is not pointless for a Korean released system. It also cost money to setup online games, and the companies making the games will have to set that all up and they are less likely to setup online games for a unknown Korean system than say the DS or PSP. PSP has online capability, but so far the only game i'm aware of with Online Play is Twisted Metal. The DS doesn't even have any online games YET. So to have a virtually unknown company have online gaming, then try to figure out some way to bridge the language barrier, since it is Korean and commercial games, if they do get made, will be made in Korean unless there is an option to change the language or there is a translation.

I think Gamepark realized this and felt the need for Wifi was not necessary for gaming. As for a browser, yes it would be nice, but my PSP can do that already, so lack of WIFI for me is not going to deter me from getting this system.

one great thing would be the capacity to plug to the console an external HDD (i own a Archos XS202..), and if this handeld is really under linux, this should not be an issue ...

@ x68000

Nope, it doesnt work like that, it has 250mhz processing power x2. I cant give you a definitive description, but basically it means that it can process two seperate items at 250mhz, eg on a pc one CPU can be deicated to the OS and one to other programs, not sure how itd work for homebrew but at a complete guess one for processing sound, the other for graphics etc... Basically you get mroe processing power devoted to each item, but the overall speed will be a maximunm 250.

Looks like vertical based games are out.

I must say that I hope it launches in both black and white. Very pure, and clean looking.

I`m sure there`s a way to use thoughs volume buttons as fire/action buttons, So all may not be lost.

Btw, Where`s DaveC, I want to know if it meet his approval. :p

And has anyone found that order button yet.

Close, but the lack of any kind of button by the joystick (start/select) makes playing vertical MAME games VERY awkward. Now you have to crook your hand to the top to fire/jump etc. Stupid Gamepark

Otherwise it looks OK. No mention of the CPU speed though

Very Nice...
They just need to move the start and select buttons underneath the D-stick...

And Recruit Yoyo to make snes emulation great on it So people dont get pissed expecting great snes emulation because it was advertised..

But not impossible. The Lynx had vertical games and didn't have buttons by the joypad. Yes akward, but still playable.

Now i just need to know when this is going to be available and how much it is going to be so i can start selling some of my stuff to get money for it.
