Well I had some cash (£50) so I'm getting all the bits I need.
Found a nice shape I am going to try to copy ;) \/

Nice design? Can you improve it? I would love feed back.

eep. Portable not protable, what ever that is

interesting.. Though i see no point with cyclone being fixed up quite well and drmd pwning so much...
Although i understand how its fun to try to build it yourself...
Should be cool... If you suceed, post many pics.. :)

I think they tried that 16 years ago -- a little something I own called the GameGear :D :D

What are the guts of this system you're using? The proc, screen, board, etc. ?

Not Game Gear, it was Nomad.

LOL, one could think you don´t know what you own...

I also have an old Megadrive II sitting in my console closet, maybe i should give it a try... But then again, i could make a portale playstation instead...

Still no more info on the guts of the portable? It looks very interesting, and I may be willing to buy one if it comes out really good.

megadrive portable is easy, but there is not much in the way of trimming down a board. also you may have sync issues when trying to hook a md2 upto rgb as the sync is negative for some reason. md1 should be fine on the other hand. if you need to make a megadrive control pad decode board, i've got a schematic here from when i jamma'd a megadrive.

£15 for 6 in 1 megadrive.
£5 old megadrive.
£15 hip gear screen pad.
£5 'bits'
and make the case at school for free

=~£40 but it may go up a bit.

"Alright, as you may or may not know Sega actually made a portable Genesis back in 1995 called the Nomad. But I figured this one might be better in a few ways:

Uses less batteries (4 VS 6) and gets as much or more play time out of them.

Weighs less (because of less batteries)

Looks like a Genesis

TFT active matrix (non-blurry) display. Helps with games like Sonic."

and it will play carts, where as your GP32 doesn't need carts, has good compatability, runs on 2 aa's, has a nice size screen, decent controls? I'm confused. Unless its a hobby project, then, way to go. should be cool. How about a portable SNES, you could make those and probably sell them for alot on Ebay.

looks COOOL!
keep it up!

portable snes would be harder/bulkier i imagine..

Is it just me or does that buttom set up look a little on the painful side. Otherwise, good luck with it, I'm sure it'll turn som heads if you can hammer it into your planned shape.
