Psx Running On The Gp2x

GREAT WORK, compatibility is much better.
Many games now start and go into the menu for me. but no 3D is displayed in almost every game i tried and it is still slow as hell in most games ;)
anyway, great work zodttd

I've tested the new version with ridge racer, it runs the same as seen in the videos I posted before, it hangs when entering the race

zodttd,

on the dev side of things, do you absolutely need linux to run your emulator?

How much ram: can you use/do you need/would you like to see?

Could you see appreciable speedups from running HH, or possibly on your own linux kernel optimized solely for your emulator?

Thanks for the great work already, I am at school now so I can't download your new release, but I was impressed at the psx video and menus running on such a cool little device in my hand.

I just found a load of ripped PSX games all around 10-20MB in size will post my results shortly on how they run.

P.S. Dont ask me where because Im not allowed to say.

So is it 100% working with 2d and not doing the 3d?

No, it's just that on the whole, 2D games have seen more success than 3D ones so far... or at least that's my interpretation of it. It's unlikely it will ever be 100% compatible with every 2D game for PSX- after all, how many emulators have you ever seen with perfect compatibility? I suspect the answers probably zero... No matter how good a piece of software is at pretending to be a piece of hardware, it can never be an absolutely perfect copy, or at least it would be extremely difficult to. That said, plenty of emus come close to full compatibility.

It's just i keep seeing these high frame rates mentioned with 2d games and no comment on 3d really...

zodttd, great work, going to rip some psone games now :)

If you can get the final fantasy games fullspeed with 1 to 3 frameskip then i will give you a COOKIE!

actually ill just donate whatever i can :p

i second that! he has only been around the forums for a few days and has argubly done the most impressive stuff in the shortest space of time - ports or not.

Some people amaze me though, zodttd has got 2 versions of his psx port out in record time and someone is already bitching as he needs more 3D games supported

God help us
