Can any one tell if it is normal for the gpx2 to have lines running up and down it.
And does any one have any idea of how to remove the red triangle from top right of the sceen with out damaging it

thanks mike

I believe that the red triangle is on a tag attached to a temperary screen protector. You simply pull it and it will remove the temperary screen protection film, you should do this just before attaching the gp2x screen protector to the gp2x.

No its not normal to have lines on your screen, this may be cured by upgrading to the latest firmware but this at the moment is very hit and miss and has resulted in a lot of gp2x being "bricked". Which basically means they are unusable.

I would send it back and get your supplier to update the firmware, they should not have sent it out with lines on the screen.

Actually i started having horizontal lines on the screen AFTER upgrading from 1.0.1 to 1.1.0.
I can now use a 2gb sdcard, but i need the overclocking utility to fix the lcd at each boot :-(
I'll make a script or something...

The red triangle is on the screen. I have up dated to 1.1 it did not help. I have a note saying to unscrew the back to releave pressure to stop ghosting any ideas what I should do.

thanks mike

Nope, the triangle is NOT on the screen.
But the protector is SO well put on the screen, that you don't really see it.

Also: Unscrewing also helps, if you have a blob in the middle of the screen each time you press the button.

Try removing the red triangle and thus remove the screen protector, it does diffuse the light a bit and this can lead to such lines.

On my GP2X the tab came off without even starting to budge the screen protector, I had to pick at the corner with a box cutter to get it to come off... There's another thin plastic protector on the thick shield that goes over the screen and a small one over the power-battery strip at the bottom of the GP2X...

Wow... I didn't know it was possible to have this many problems with a few sheets of plastic. I got them off immediately before all these screen protector threads even came into existence.
