Has anyone had a problem with the older hack version I (or Nobody58565 ;) )released in the beta section?
nope that one worked just fine for us :D

@ noreason:

well, not for all of us ;)
the beta version wouldn't even load a single game for me and kept on crashing the gp2x.

@ primeris:

strange, for the volume trick indeed works well with me.
i just tried it a dozen times this morning.

i must have missed something for my version doesn't permir overcloaking and stays at 200 mhz. :/

Just tried this now, the sound is excellent and all my roms seem to load now. In the version before I had some issues loading roms. now its all fixed. Huzzah!

Hm ... this Version seems to be slower than the previous in the BETA-Section

yes - noticed that, too. but i found another problem:

when i start my gp2x and go directly to the 0.35 hack and start it, i have no sound...
but when i first start the 0.34 hack from the beta-section and then start the 0.35 hack, i get sound...

and the 0.35 hack doesn´t like smc images. with the same file zipped, it works

my smc images work ok and also this is slower than beta .34, the graphics are mangled now in super ghouls and gohsts.

standard firmware 1.2.1

-Observation not critisim

I got black screen/skin first thing I tried, but after that it was fine.

Lemmings: Excellent
Worms: Excellent
SMC: Stopped at the race with some odd graphics problems
Puzzle Bobble: Very choppy
Rampart: Slow and choppy

Every time I use this emu I have to change the settings, it doesnt save them, I have checked the config file and it is empty.

Any Ideas, can someone send a link toa working config file?

cheers

Excellent work Reesy. I'm yet to try any of yours hacks, but from what people say it sounds promising.

Would it be possible to add support for JMA compressed ROMs? I've used this to compress all of my SNES ROMs and it greatly reduces the size compared to compressed ZIP files. I don't know much about the format, other than it was designed for compressing ROMs and you need to use NSRT to compress into this format. http://nsrt.edgeemu.com/forum/portal.php

the "nobody"-verision worked great for me. everything loaded ok, no crashes

in the new versions i need to use the "commander keen" trick to get sound...and the first time i try to load a rom, it will fail. but the second time it works...ah and it only works with zip-files

I am impressed, I have a steady 35+fps in Final Fantasy 5 and that is with my GP2X clocked at 200mhz.
However there is now huge graphical corruption on a map screen in Final Fantasy 5, it is basically a block of color with stripes on it.
It's only about a minute or two into the game if you wanna try yourself.

Edit: Even more weirdness in a battle, I can't see what attack I am selecting.
Edit2: This is going to be unplayable, there is weird shit happening everywhere (I just tried Super Mario Kart - I can't see the ground!).
This is with using smc files, and a power adaptor.
Edit3: Zelda has about 4fps. : (

Re the graphics corruption try the squidge settings version, it sorts out the problems you mentioned in FFV for me, in places it runs up to 60fps @ 266mhz and the main map is fine and the text boxes are correct.

If things feel sluggish turn off v-sync, I saw my frame rate increase without any of the flickering that was in previous versions of squidgesnes without v-sync enabled.

Finally, to add to the mix I couldn't run the orginal squidgesnes 0.35 on any f/w revision, it always crashed and the commander keen trick didn't work.

These two versions work just fine for me

I am currently running on cramfs 0.0.4.

Squidgesnes 0.35 Reesy build with squidge settings.

Uncompressed roms in the squidgesnes rom directory.

Use full screen scaling - false

Show FPS - true

Enable v-sync - false

FPS limiter - false

Transhack-A V0.1 - false

Frameskip: 0

Fast sprites - false

Audio processor enable - true

Audio processor mute - false

Use absolute rom directory - false

SNES action buttons - false

Battery warning - disabled

I hope this helps.

Well I would try but both binaries now have stopped working completely, when I choose a rom it just sits there with the skin shown, but no game on the screen. BLA

Edit: working again!?!?

Okay it worked and FF5 loaded and worked fine - did not play past the map scene though.
However SMK is even more broken in this version, there is just a black screen when you start a race (with sound). And although it draws FF6 fine, only at about 4fps!

It doesn't work for me no matter what I try. But I'm just happy that Reesy said he will keep working on it until it's done. Thanks Reesy & Squidge.
