My Dingoo arrived yesterday, a black one. It's very nice. But I'm without an SD adaptor until Monday, and I can't mount the Dingoo on either Linux (Elive) or XP. And I think I've had enough of INTERESTING GAME already.

I have read this thread: http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?/topic/48973-new-to-dingoo-access-internal-flash-memory/

fdisk -l doesn't list the device. Windows XP says "device not recognised".

Any ideas?

Found this: http://www.dingoo-digital.com/forums/i-need-help/xp-cant-see-dingoo

The same thing has just happened to me. After a couple of dozen resets and re-plugs, it is now accessible. I'm not confident that the problem is solved though (I'm definitely not going to unmount it until I know more).

[edit2] Ok, I chucked a bunch of stuff on it, took the plunge and disconnected. Now it seems to detect fine in XP every time I plug it in. :) Also, ethoxyethaan's Linux instructions from the first thread I linked are now working:

Code:
fdisk -l (get the device from here, remove the [1,2 or 3] from the end so it looks like this sdd, sdb or sde)
mkdir /media/mountpoint
mount /dev/[Device] /media/mountpoint -t vfat
chmod 777 -R /media/mountpoint

... so I can now mount/unmount manually. Happy days.

Damn, I scanned the thread list and somehow missed that! I wondered about doing that exact thing, but I was scared. It's working fine now but I don't trust it... I'll probably reformat before I install Dingux.

well i am new here and its an interesting one i formated it once and then installed Dingux its working perfectly. :)
