For making my mods and maps for Zdoom and Skulltag (and another DooM][ ports ) in travel with Pandora I need this two progs -

1) Doom builder -

http://www.doombuilder.com/

This is a map editor for DooM 1-2 and Hexen, Heretic, and other games on DooM engine (Strife, for example)

Doom Builder is an open source development released under GNU GPL. Everyone can learn from the source code and use it in a GPL compatible project.

2) XWE (eXtendable Wad Editor)

http://www.doomworld.com/xwe/

This is an old good tool for game resources (sound and graphics) rip, operating and script editing\compiling for DooM, DooM][ and mass of another games.

Sorry, I do not know how to make "oficial" soft request for Pandora, maybe anybody help me?

Also interesting how much difficult to port this two tools to PND?

Thank you!

p.s. maybe you seen and even play my mods and arenas in Skulltag online (Headcut, Scullcut)

Quick look at those...

The Doom Builder source is Windows only .NET project...

The XWE is a Delphi program and first we need to have a Pascal compiler, thing that actually we didn't have, maybe in the future.

So i think is not possible to have compiled now :( sorry!!

.NET runs on the Pandora, kind of. It's not immediately impossible because of that, anyway. Just don't expect someone to step forward and make it happen.

Well until then perhaps some of the DOS era editors I used long ago runs fine in DOSBOX. Think DCK was the one I used the most.

Thank you all for answers!

some of the DOS era editors
Sorry, I know about in-DOS working editors (I worked with them in the 90's) - they are not good in present day - too weak!

I actually have a copy of the Doom WAD building book (made with real trees!) that has a CD of WAD-building tools (including a DeH editor) - let me know if you want me to try to track down the tools included on the CD. It's from the early 90s, right around when Doom came out, it doesn't even know about Doom95, so it might be too DOS based for you. (Does anybody recall the title of the book?)

I'm in mapping since 1995, and I have all "DooM damnation collection" CD's ;)

Since 90's I have many many difference DooM editors under DOS, win, OS\2 and even some crazy idiotic chiniese map editor for Panasonic 3Do, sorry idk it names, it was fully on China language

So, IMHO the best of all - Doom Builder(first, NOT the DB-2) + XWE. Also I'm using Slumped, but very seldom and only for my big project which I building about last 6 years..
