hello,

Well i am anxiously waiting for my gp2x to arrive today! i only have one concern though..

If my Gp2x comes with the firmware 3.0, can i easily downgrade it to 2.1.1? In other words just get the necessary files from the 2.1.1 firmware and downgrade? thanks a lot!

It's very easy to downgrade the firmware, but please note that you will have to install Firmware 2.0.0 before upgrading to 2.1.1. Other than that it is very straightforward.

Yep, just download FW 2.0, put it on a FAT32 formatted SD card, insert it in the GP2X, then turn on the '2X while holding Start + Select (using freshly-charged 2500MaH (minimum) batteries (My recommendation).

Repeat for the 2.1.0, then 2.1.1 firmwares. Very easy :)

You don´t have to upgrade to 2.10 before 2.11. Just upgrade directly from 2.00 to 2.11.

... yes, sorry for the confusion ... 2.0 > 2.11 for the win :)

Just be aware that some people seems to have lost their autorun functionality after downgrading from 3.0 to 2.1(.1). I simply stick to 2.0 right now, where it still works.

My GP2X came preloaded with firmware 3.0...is there something wrong with it? Should I downgrade?
