introducing the Pii

Another portent of the impending apocaylpse, sigh

:quote: Trade paper Adweek calculates that on average men are rooted to the spot for 55 seconds while they relieve themselves - nine months over the course of their lifetimes.

As Samuel clemens said thers lies, damn lies and statistics

Quote;

When they buy the product, they are given one quarter of the advertising slots that are available on it and a veto on the external ones that will be sold to third parties.

"It's notoriously difficult for brands to engage a young male audience whilst they're out socialising," argues MacSween, and "Captive Media offers a long 'dwell time'."

So impossibly drunk guys who cant even string two words together are going to miracoulosly remember advertising in the morning,Nope dont think so. They are more likely to have trouble locating the restroom let alone playing videogames with their willies.

I remember a number of years ago that the notion of pop-up ads being able to appear and bother you when you pee was considered to be a ludicrous and impossible parody of their (former) prevalence on the internet.

But here we are...

And the snowball keeps getting bigger and bigger. I laugh at the fact that stuff that was parodied about the future in comics like 2000ad some 30 years ago actually happens nowadays. When did parody become real life?

Khan, I am *so* glad that I'm not the only one who keeps noticing that and laughing (or sometimes, cringing) at it. :lol:

yup plenty of stuff to laugh at or cringe at. telly ads often make me laugh and so does horrible reality television and other silly fads.

I'm not certain what establishments these people have been to, but all of the bars I go to have TVs in front of the urinal so that you don't have to miss a second of the game when you step out. That'd be one. One bar has a mini TV at the urinals so that you don't have to miss whatever sporting event is currently happening.

They drew the line at having them in the stalls though.

What happens when you have to take a dump in the cubicle? Is there a telly in the toilet door? :p

Just look at those JML direct adverts on TV (UK/Irl) - a company that appears to have been set up to make all those devices and bits of tat we've probably all thought of at one time and dismissed as ideas too daft to actually make. Then again, we had K-Tel and Ronco (Ronco were mercilessly parodied) doing exactly the same back in the 70s/80s! Nothing new under the sun!

The only good stuff that JML sells is the stuff that they license from elsewhere.

If you ever see one of their travel sewing machines, run far, FAR away... :p
