The Transperant Cases ?

wait!....there's an off-topic section? where? , I got told off for posting some "only slightly related" stuff once so I don`t bother with general chat, I just thought the forum was too stuck up for "common gossip".

Well start to use the offtopic section then... You have it the wrong way round, the pandora community isn't just lumped in one big community with lost of other little communities. GP32X is the community, and the offtopic section is the section for off topic.
of course i know that but considering that half the very casual users cant even use the search function they're unlikely to notice the other sections too when the pandora page only links to such a select few specific ones. i wasn't complaining about my own inconvenience, if i wanted to use it i would, just making the observation that the directly linked content is geared to the pandora more specifically rather than the entire community and it might encourage people to make better posting decisions if they saw the whole thing.

i can see where you misinterpret what i tried to say before but you almost have to imagine you've come to the forum via the pandora website, you click forums and you see 4 options. you pick your forum, probably the general forum, and post something quite off topic because you think its appropriate there rather than being more aware of all the other areas.

Why do we even have to know stuff like this?
We don't, it should be taken totally in fun and fun only. If this were any other big company project, we wouldn't even know that clear cases were being machined.
And yet, invariably, there will be someone who is complaining about a lack of information. My head hurts thinking about it.

There is something about this forum that I don't understand. Why can't we have an idle conversation once in a while? Does every thread have to contain another news item, piece of information or some other scoop? This thread could serve as a great collection of already existing information for people interested in the CNC case's progress you know...

I agree. Everywhere I go, GD has always been a place for the users to converse with each other about whatever they felt like. It's called General Discussion for a reason. Is there something wrong with Discussion for Discussion's sake? It helps the community bond, and maybe it might be nice to see topics just talking about things we want to talk about instead of topics asking "Can it run XP?!? o_O"

yeah, community bonding involves poisonedv calling people cunts.
Disagreement is part of community bonding as well.

It builds character.
My grandma used to tell me that on car trips when I had to use the restroom.

"suck it up, it builds character"

Valid disagreement is positive for the community. Disagreement for disagreement sake (while being an immature douch) is not a positive addition.

One adds value, the other simply distracts for one's own ego touting attention whoring. "Look at me, notice me, give me attention, I have meaning...".

I do agree though, that we should be able to converse and have a conversation evolve naturally. A "can we do XP" thread should close after everyone already said no. Another thread where the original topic has been addressed but we decide to grow the conversation naturally in another direction, why should that be closed (in General anyway, Dev is another matter)?

How a contemplation about transparent cases can get into a discussion about forum ethics.
porn & forum ethics seems quite related even if it's geek porn...

I agree, I don't even remember the incident from which they were referring to, but even if it did happen, it would be a rare enough occurence that it wouldn't really matter, because those kinds of things happens every once in a while in conversation.
