It won't be until much later tonight as it requires some photos of a chip.
<bad joke>Straight or crinkle cut?</bad joke>

Or hopefully wi-fi.

Also a very regional joke.

We Americans call them french fries.

What we would call a chip, you would probably call a crisp.

Oh, I thought he meant smooth or ridged chips. Like the slogan: "Ruffles have ridges"

But you can get both in straight and crinkle-cut variations! :p

EDIT: That was meant in response to jmetal88. :)

I meant for people to use the definition of the word chip that applied to them, I should have put a note in my original post. :)

That would be original or ridged, technically. :p

Alright, alright, I'll concede a little here. I can see how someone might call a ridged potato chip crinkle-cut.

Guess I'll read about it tommorow. Good enough for me, at least I'll have something to look forward to.

There's yer crinkle cuts. Originally in Australia we called them "Ruffles" IIRC.
Yes, but generally we refer to both types (Chips, Fries, Crisps) as chips.

There's me on this damned healthy eating plan and even the forum is full of high calorie foods then someone links to these:

.
This is just plain sadistic. ;)

Those ruffles are gorgeous, but I really couldn't tell you why...

Well Ruffles are a brand of chip, and they're the one who invented the "crinkle cut". Everyone else who does it now is just copying the design. :p

Anyways, good news on the blog update. Hopefully it contains some interesting information!

I actually prefer ruffle-less chips. Especially salt & vinegar, those are my selected food if I had to choose a brand of chips to be the only thing I'd ever eat again.

I love salt and vinegar chips and I'm willing to prove it by mindlessly flaming anybody who disagrees that salt and vinegar chips are the best chips ever. Bring it on, you different-flavour loving communists!

I'd almost forgotten that was what the thread was about.

Now I'm gonna have to go get some food.
