This may be a very silly question but how does one begin to start developing for the GP2X????

What programs are required, etc... I have the DevKit...
Can anyone give an idiots guide to startd developing as I would like to start create games -

I can create games on the PC using Game maker and programs like that just wondered if there was anything similar on the Gp2X or whether it was hard coded?

Thanks.

There's something called Game Editor, I think, that combines point-and-click "developing" with optional c-like code. I didn't hear much from people about it though, so perhaps you should read on:

If you want to do things right (do them yourself), take a look at Fenix. It's the perfect language for programming beginners: easy to get started with, simple, well structured syntax similar to C, easy input reading, sound, and graphics handling.

I downloaded a demo of the games factory from http://www.clickteam.com/

And after following the tutorial I was able to make a breakout clone in about half hour. With title screen, lives, high score etc.

I don't think it can export to run on gp2x but the game editor does.

http://www.game-editor.com

And that's only $25

But it isn't as easy to use as the game factory. But it is a lot cheaper.
