Results are only viewable after voting.

There are a lot of sites explaining the process of dying plastic.
Including polycarbonate? The only link I've found with a quick search is this which suggests you can't do it except with someone's expensive patented special dyes. The hard coating may complicate matters as well apparently.

But that's a 12 year old thread, who knows what people have found out in the interim (not me at least)?

Does anyone else see irony that the only currently existing case, "color," is missing from the selections?
Why add it to the poll if we already know we are getting it? I had a limited number of choices and already didn't have enough.

Silly question: Would any of the people that voted for black be ok if it wasn't black, but one of these other almost black colors?

The more 'interesting' the color, the darker it would need to be. But, sure.

This could work: https://www.colorhexa.com/28003b
Technically it is a really really deep dark purple.

Dark dark red: https://www.colorhexa.com/4e0000

Dark dark blue: https://www.colorhexa.com/000041

Dark dark gray: https://www.colorhexa.com/1b1b1b
^has a great color code.

Which sent me down a rabbit hole of project related color codes...
Light light gray: https://www.colorhexa.com/dbdbdb

Green like you would not believe: https://www.colorhexa.com/00db00

Then there is actual black:

However, what that code actually represents isn't really obtainable with embedded colors or monitors. That code is effectively what Vanta Black strives for by bouncing light through a 3D structure until it becomes absorbed as heat. Technically everything else is some shade of color or dark grey.

I think we need to clear up what we all mean by dark grey and these other dark colors. I feel that if you can only see the color in the sun on a clear summer day you might as well go with black, and I don't want black.

So what is the darkest color / shade you would find acceptable?

I voted for red and white. That makes pink.

I'm nice like that.

It is personal preference, and I am only one, but for grey, I just want it to be obvious it isn't black in a normal well lit room, so pretty damn dark. It would be easier to show you in person.

I think we are the only two that would want pink, but in the next poll we can find out. ;)

@rygD, @WizardStan Not that I'm big on repetitive polls, but If you can vote up and get EvilDragon to have pink as a color choice, I'd totally rock it.

It's all about marketing. You just need to come up with a fancy name for it: "Rose Gold"; "Salmon"; "Soft Ruby".

Ok, so 3 for pink. I would totally go for hot pink, as I have said several times. Or maybe Pyra Pink, but now we have to find one. Do you think TMobile will notice if we borrow their pink?
