I loaded some MP3s on my SD card. I put the Exaile pnd file on the car. Exaile opens with its start screen, then just goes away and does nothing. Is this software no good at this point? Is there another option for listening to music on the pandora?

I just got mine, loading emulators & puttering around, but wanted to use it to lisetn to music at work :)

Thats my guess as well. Due to licensing encumbrance on 'mp3' (which is _not_ an open standard), it can't be included in the firmware by default.

I just loaded the codec pack on the SD card. So just click to install, or the PND file just being there is enough? I have had my pandora 12 hours now, so lots of questions. I am not a NooB though.. been running emulation on my mac, GP2x, DS for years. Just need to fine tune

Start the install from the icon in the system menu. When it says it's finished. You're good to go and can remove the pnd.

Edit: What do we have an "I need Help" section for again?
If you want to familiarize yourself better with the Pandora, you should watch the One Vid per Day series...

I like audacious, it's what I use to play music on my pandora

I really like cmus - its a console app and runs great in low power mode

I liked it so much I ended up compiling it myself and adding some extra codex for it! but I think the pnd has what you need to get you going

I love Deadbeef. It's my Pandora music-player of choice. :D
Exaile does work if the codec pack is present but still I wouldnt use it if i were you.
The current build is buggy as hell and crashes at every second song.

I suggest you check out Deadbeef or Audacious, both are very excellent music players.

I must be missing something. I'm not aware of any ever having existed (and I've been using Deadbeef for most of the time that I've owned my Pandora, so basically since it was first made available).

Thanks everyone

How does one get deadbeef on their pandora? I am a NooB and use linux (ubuntu) but not a command line warrior by any means. I have just been getting whats avail on the pandora app site and putting the PND on the SD cards?

How does one go about getting the alternative players?
