Here is a Launcher for FTL, the "roguelike" in space
preview1.png

This PND is a Luancher, so you'll need to copy the Full game data to be able to play. The PND can autoextract the data from the HumbleBundle install script. Launch it PND a first time to have instructions.
The Launcher use box86 and gl4es to run. It use GLES2 Backend so you may need the latest SGX drivers. A swapfile is most probably required. Text is really small and may be difficult to read. I do not advised to play the game for the 1st time directly on the Pandora...

Hello!

Complete OpenPandora & Linux noob here!

Can you please help me try and make this game work? I have the Rebirth model (the mid tier at the time? The one before 1ghz).
With the help of ptitSeb I could update the SGX driver using the SGX driver pnd to 4.10 using this form page.

But I still have the problem in which the first loading almost ends but I'm kicked back at linux without any error appearing. Same applies after the update driver to 4.10.
Any clues on this?

Thank you,
Miguel

I only have currentuid, currentuser, gui.stop, gui.stopnew, and pnd_version files and some folders, on File System /tmp.
Am I missing something?

Also just asking a dumb question. Did you enable a swapfile?

From the repo comment section on the game launcher.

First of all, apologies ptitSeb I answered your suggestion as a PM to you instead of posting here. That's what happens with you have those 2 pages opened hehe.

About the swap file, let me just clarify here again:
Complete OpenPandora & Linux noob here!

Is there an easy was to use a swapfile on the pandora? Or can you please point me when to look?
I leave the log file here as well:

Thank you very much!

That worked ptitSeb. Thank you. Created a 500mb swap file. Needed to check what a swap file is, and it makes sense. This console probably does not have enough memory for the game so a file was needed to store some memory there.
Even if the game is working, some things to note:

-> Text is small. Was specified already but doesn't bother me much as much is readable in-game.
-> Framerate is oof, seriously low. Maybe 5 to 10 fps. I think it gets lower on some environments
-> A lot of noticeable mouse lag.
-> For some reason the actions/presses I do with the mouse will only "activate" when I press something else or move the mouse away.
-> I cannot, for the love of god, simulate a right-click on the mouse, so no moving around when the crew.
-> Random crashed while navigating in the menus.

But apart from this the game works. The awesome soundtracks work as well!
At least for the Rebirth version it seems a little unplayable. Not sure if the 1ghz pandora can mitigate some of these points.

Thank you very much for your help!
Miguel

Well, it was a game released after the Pandora was originally released, so to me it's not a surprise it doesn't run that well on such antiquated hardware. Rule of thumb, but it mainly seems to work.

Maybe I can try to update the pnd with latest box86 & gl4es.
Also, you can try some small overclock, like pushing to 800MHz? It works ok on my Gigahertz, but the GPU is 2x faster, so that may help.
