1GHz Pandora with latest System Update. New Pale Moon Appdata folder.

Try ESPN.com and use the 'hamburger' menu to change sports to NBA. The browser just qiuts. Happens other places as well.

Thanks!

Pale Moon was brilliant when I first started using it, but these days it just sits there from start up, thrashing the SD card on any click, or keyboard input. I've tried resetting preferences and reinstalling but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Can anybody suggest anything? I've had to go back to Arora. Not as many features, but at least it works at a decent speed...  :(

??? I used Palemoon these Days and had no Problems here.

Will try the new Version soon from today.

Watched in the German Pandora Forum, the Pandora Boards and Messages from Youtube Yesterday Evening with Palemoon and no Crashing here.

Do a file system check on your SD card? I remember a point when the cache folder in my firefox profile got corrupted, and I couldn't even delete it because of the file system issues. That caused me all sorts of problems. It may be worth unmounting your SD card and running fsck on it. (or better yet plugging it into a windows box and running chkdsk -f on it if it's a FAT type fs)

Hmm i use the latest Version and have no Problems here.

(Fat32 1GHZ Version,no Swap active)

I did not delete my old Appdata Folder

but maybe it help on your Problems when you delete the Appdata Folder.

Have you checked the free Space on your SD Card?

Which Pandora do you use?

Oh ok with that Site crashed Palemoon for me too

Edit:now work the Nba Espn Site here but when i was on this Site will even not work the Edit Button from here.

When i visited this Site second Time then displayed Palemoon the ESPN NBA Site here good.

After that i changed directly into the Pandora Boards and tried to Edit.....crash.

I will try to reproduce that now with Swap Memory.

Edit Edit:

Did the same with Swap Memory and no crashes more.

For me it seem to be a free memory Problem.

Hope that little Hint work your Version too :)

edit edit edit:

Hehe so may Edits...tried this Nba Site serveral Times and had no one more Crash or on the Aftersites.

;)

I think it was a miscompilation causing some random memory overwrite.

I tried a fix, seems stable now...

Build 10

-----------

  • Fix to some random segfault (js related).

Pale Moon quits with a Page Fault in version 25.4.1.11 when I go here:

EDIT: All of pcworld.com seems to cause Page Fault.

Again some segfault? This is getting anoying :( .

@dgame: thanks for the details and the way to reproduce, I'll look at that soon.

Ok, should be fixed with build 12. That was a miscompilation, so I put a "#pragma GCC optimize 1" in gfxFont.cpp to have it compile preperly, without reducing the optimization on the whole program (during gdc session, I notice, in the call stack, that gfxTextRun::~gfxTextRun() was calling gfxTextRun::~gfxTextRun(), adn that made no sense at all).

Thank you very much. Build 12 seems very solid. Has been running for few days straight without problems.

I have been testing as well, and everything is great so far. Swap is definitely helpful to avoid crashes caused by low memory.

Just realized that "L-Trig + R-Trig + [" is bound to "Back" and "L-Trig + R-Trig + ]" is bound to "Forward". This solidifies Pale Moon as my new default, as I had gotten very attached to "Del" being bound to "Back" in Chrome and Qupzilla, and was missing a convenient keyboard shortcut solution for this.
