Cool , Link went to the Portland Retro gaming expo and I know he got a couple of people to Play around on a display one , but then that was at a gamer orientated event ... Still advertising to gamers and computer enthusiasts may help .

Maybe an idea: get one active pandora into the windows and keep it running some kind of looped gameplay video?

Glue the base to a piece of wood (after the screws have been removed), use a unit that will boot without a battery.

Now the unit will be impossible to steal without the case falling apart in the thief's hands.

To return it to being a normal unit, just attach a new base section and battery

I don't have enough money to let a Pandora run all day :/.

Indeed that would be nice.

500mA @ 3.7V for 10h = 18Wh

In France last year, a kWh cost 0.2USD (0.15EUR)

0.018*0.15*365=0.99

In other words, this will cost you One Euro per year

With full wifi, backlighting etc perhaps 2EUR per year

But wouldn´t it be wearing the unit off?

I like the idea though.

Maybe let it run on some specific high traffic times on the store?

I think pandoras are supposed to last 20 years use at opp5, and rather longer at opp3

The mechanical parts wouldn't be worn out, So a single unit would probably last far longer than the commercial life of the P1

ha good point - where did I hear the 20years figure?

Anyway, in 10 years time (remember I was working on shutting it down overnight), there will (possibly) be a P2 (or P3) and the P1 will be out of production (Have fun finding 2008 SOCs in a 2022
