PSP or NDS?

Yes, thats true, there was talk about removing the touchscreen layer with a sharp knife over the non-touchscreen part. That would speed it up, as there wouldn't be two touchscreens, that needed to be emulated anymore.

Could work.

If you see, that dualcore desktoppcs struggle with it, I think a lot more as we have right now, but as exo pointed out, the nds could be seen in the same range as the psp, saturn or dreamcast. Should also depend on the software and optimisation level.

These are both still being marketed not going to tell you what to do but don't let Nintendo or Sony see this or we're all dead .

You can emulate them at a good speed on a pc and nintendo doesn't do a thing. Emulation is not illegal. Pirating roms is.

Time for a </sarcasm> ?

What kind of specs would be needed for a DS emulator?

It's not known because there isn't an open, optimized emulator. desumume doesn't have a dynarec, and its software graphics are inefficient. Eventually, if an optimized emulator is developed for ARM target, then we'd have a better idea of 'required specs'.

Maybe you can ask Exophase, since he wrote the phenomenal gpSP emulator. You need someone else like him to take on a project like an NDS emu for ARM.

Exophase and gpSP is simply amazing. I tried out the Symbian port made by Summeli, and it runs GBA fullspeed no problems, if only we could achieve such wonders with all emulators.
