Recommend One Game For Everyone Else To Play On Their Pandora

Mars Matrix

Craziest space shooter I've ever played!

Your basic space shooter except 2 huge differences:
1. A Shit-Ton of enemies and bullets everywhere! and
2. The ability to absorb enemy bullets and shoot them back out across the screen!

It makes for some intense gameplay!
Mar matrix was released in 2000 on the CPS-2 Arcade system and also on Dreamcast.
Hopefully mame or a future DC emulator will play it.

Oooh, marsquake for acorn. Okay, I know that's 2 now, but it's sooo good:

Its a bomberman clone, but the multiplayer is far better than any other bomber game I've ever played, by a long, long way (and I've played many)

GTI Club Cote d'azure.. was the first coin-op game with the handbrake late in 1997 :) driving cars like the Autobianchi A112-Abarth (and her rival mini cooper), golf gti, renault 4 turbo... ;)

Snatcher...
Tons of metal gear easter eggs (despite it being released first).
Rubbish. Metal Gear was released before Snatcher. Perhaps you mean released before Metal Gear Solid.

Seiken Densetsu 3
Worth mentioning that it was the sequel to Secret of Mana to help people who played the earlier game get a rough idea of what to expect.

Ooh. I remember this game. DOS version should play on DOSBox too and there's an SNES port. :)

... and you could play on the Amiga or Atari ST versions.

Although you're probably already aware, you can absorb bullets on Ikaruga too, though Mars Matrix was released slightly earlier.

[/Additional information]

I'd recommend Mr Do! (for some old school arcade action):

I'm going to cheat and suggest two games. Non emulated

1)
X-Moto:
not quite as much fun as elastomania (that might just be because my escape button is broken and when I played elastomania it was not, so I could actually get out of levels), but still a great game;
http://wiki.xmoto.tuxfamily.org/index.php?title=Screenshots
2)
Armagetron advanced:
it's tron. Except 3d, fast and with internet play!

No, I was not aware, I'll have to try that game. I spent countless hours on mars matrix so if its even close to as good, I'm sure I'll love it! Thanks.

It's not really an RPG, just action, and you don't need to know Japanese to complete it (we did that when it first came out), however there is an English translation out there. Kind of an overlooked gem in the Western world.

NOT the Best game I've ever played, but surely the most carefree and funniest one.

I recommend "Tomba! 2" (sometimes "Tombi! 2"):

I have to say, good choice.

I would mention Star Control 3 (a great space exploration game, despite the critics), but it's possible that the DOS emulation will never be fast enough to play it.

Better that you not mention it. ;)
Just stick to The Ur Quan Masters, and pray for a universe in which Toys For Bob can reclaim the rights to Star Control and produce a proper sequel.

Of course, I also love Star Control 2 (aka. The Ur Quan Masters, which will definitely be ported to Pandora at some point)! But I do think that Star Control 3 is a great game as well, it just gets a bad rap because it is the non-canon follow-up to one of the best games of all time.

Toys for Bob already have the rights to everything but the actual name, so that's not a problem. The problem is getting Activision interested.

P.S. Guys, stop posting screenshots from MobyGames, they don't show up. Try rehosting them over here: http://imageshack.us/
