I will put here the current status of my (old) PND regarding firmware 1.62.

Newer PND will be automatically compatible with 1.62 (as I upgraded my dev. Pandora) and will not add them here.

Does it mean newer PND will require 1.62 by default?
May be yes. I will upgrade all my pandoras and PND (if needed) and will not support earlier firmware (I don't see the point in it).

So it's not that it will be mandatory, but I will only conduct testing on 1.62+.

WOW nice list! Do you want to test them all yourself or can we provide input? I can test gMZ700em and gMZ800em for you.

That's where it would be great to have some firmware requirements indicated in the PXML standard... too bad it's nowhere to be found.

Actually there is an OS version specification, which could apply to that.. the only issue is there is nothing that makes use of it.

I think it does not refer to the firmware on the Pandora though. Plus there's the issue that people updating the firmware online do not show up the latest OS version after the update. Many issues to deal with.

If you can test some it can help, sure :)

I think I have issue with OpenAL (??? strange), but not sure yet.

Well no, but firmware is kind of a funky term for our OS updates.. our "Firmware" is essentially just an OS image, not some binary blob that gets installed into a traditional non-volatile storage memory... My guess the osversion tags where intended to keep track of our "firmware" version differences.. It's just that a system that enforces PNDs to only run on specific OS versions never came to be.. It would also be a mess to keep in order.

Well right now it's a real mess on the user side. If there are people who do not check the boards often, they will trust that a new Ptitseb PND update is just an update and they will break their PND unless they actually read what the changes are about. It's just a disaster that's bound the happen.

@Ptitseb, I've also checked below:

Return of Castle Wolfenstien,

Jedi Knight II/III,

Super Methane Brothers.

Project X: Forsaken (just doesn't with the 4.10 SGX drivers)

right, but this was bound to happen sooner or later, I expected a big change like this to happen with .next not in the current SZ. It's the current state of the situation.

Right, I know, and I'm saying we should do something about it :)

gMZ700em and gMZ800em are okay - I just tested them. Issues with OpenAL - you mean for these two? Sound is still working as before (not perfect and MZ800 is needed to have sound for MZ800 programs and MZ700 used for the rest)

BTW. Tested on a rebirth - default drivers.

My comment on OpenAL was more general, about the issu I have with hamerwatch and daikatana. gMZ700em and gMZ800em use OSS for sound, no OpenAL. Glad they work anyway, I'll update the compatibility list.

Open Tyrian.. working
Ha Yeah I tested all my PNDs there a so few of them.
Just a reminder this thread is specifically for Ptitseb's PNDs. the SZ 1.62 thread should address other PNDs

Your Fachoda-Complex port appears to be working well.

As well as Neverball/Neverputt

XBMC: okay - not checked everything though (so many options and plugins) - but starting and video playback works fine.
