Finally, a week that really had no cancellations! The first of the EU 4GB units was pre-ordered at Sunday lunch-time. Then this weeks US 4GB unit preorder came in on Monday morning. To top the week off, two more EU 4GB units were preordered on Saturday night, just before the weekly deadline.

As above, the preorders were split as follows:
Non-cellular units: no change
US cellular units: +1 4GB unit
Euro cellular units: +3 4GB units

Possibly the first week where we only had preorders at the weekends, but we've long had slightly more preorders at the weekend than on weeknights.

@Lightkey Okay, you probably got the results earlier than I did. Thanks for correcting me either way!

Almost a year already since pre orders started...

Time flies... :(

I see your year of pre-orders and raise you 6 months for pre-pre-orders and prototypes.

Pre-pre-prototype ordered (and paid for in full with shipping) on October 18th, 2015.

I have always wondered if the prototypes are or are not included in the 1st days/weeks numbers above. Not that it matters that much - there were only 8 of us.

Delivery has never felt closer. Back to waiting.

Sometimes when I come onto the forums I get that feeling of sitting in the backseat of a car that's been driving for several months, never quite knowing when it's gonna reach it's destination.
Can't complain about the company, though. It's been a real pleasure so far and hopefully things will go smoothly from here on out.

It's been a long journey. Wake me up at the next stop, or in two months. Heh~

or you can turn abruptly on the steering wheel of the car you are in towards a steady tree to put you in coma, your time perception will fly.

Apologies for the delay in getting this out; I was travelling last week and only got back on Sunday, and then forgot about this thread for a day and a bit.

To start off, on Monday evening a 4GB EU unit was preordered, then on Tuesday afternoon, two non-cellular 4GB units were cancelled. One of these was apparently reordered on Wednesday evening, then the next day the most unusual thing happened; five US 4GB units were pre-ordered in a single 15 minute window. And on Thursday afternoon an EU 4GB unit was preordered, and on Friday evening, two EU 4GB units were preordered again in another 15 minute window.

As above, the preorders were split as follows:
Non-cellular units: -1 4GB units (-2+1)
US cellular units: +5 4GB units
Euro cellular units: +4 4GB units

Note that this week's rhyme up top probably depends on your accent as to whether it actually rhymes or not.

I'm not sure what happened on Thursday afternoon to sell those five 4GB units in the states all together like that, so that might turn out to be an accidental order. But we also got two 4GB EU units together on Friday evening, so maybe people are out there making big multiple orders on purpose.

Obviously it isn't too much if pre-orders are still being sold and not many people have requested refunds. Like, literally, this is the exact opposite of what you're trying to imply.

You Sir are being overly polite or very loose in your definition of imply. Can you get back to me in a month or two on which one?

By saying that 50 weeks is a minimum of 30 weeks too much, he's saying that it needed to be done after only 20 weeks. The implication of something needing to be done in a given timeframe is that after that timeframe it is decidedly less valuable than before it.
And while there are fewer pre-orders coming in every week now than there was at week 20 I think the fact that the number is still going up implies that, for the majority, it still holds the same value it did when they first pre-ordered, and that incoming people agree.
I'm saying he's wrong, the first week where we start seeing a pattern of zeros and negative numbers (meaning we won't actually know for certain it's a pattern until a couple months later) is when it is "too much".

Hmm, I got a totally different impression. Especially if you remember what M@8 has said in the past. My impression was that he was saying it's been too long a wait . A minimum of 30 weeks too long

But I could be wrong.

My impression was that he was saying it's been too long a wait . A minimum of 30 weeks too long
Yes, that is exactly what I said he said: 50 weeks is at least 30 weeks too long. This means he feels it needed to be done at least 30 weeks ago. The fact that people are still buying up pre-orders and aren't cancelling en mass proves he's wrong.

@WizardStan
The thing that I didn't see was the bit where you assumed he was alluding to value dropping. I think that he believes the wait has been too long for those who pre-ordered - that's it , nothing more. But again, that was just my take.

If nothing is lost when this "too long" passes, then why is it too long?

I mean, you're still waiting, right vcoleiro1? The Pyra will still have value to you when you finally get it, right? If it were too long then you'd have cancelled because at that point it is no longer as valuable to you as the money you've put into it.

When would you complain?
When it's no longer valuable to me and I'm ready for a refund. Until then complaining accomplishes nothing. Less than nothing, actually: it causes a burden on EvilDragon and those of us waiting patiently. You honestly believe he's just sitting on his ass waiting for someone to complain that it's been too long? Like "oh hey, yeah, I guess I'll hit the big green button now. I was going to wait another 6 months while doing nothing, but I guess people really want this"
No, he's going as fast as he can and when things are done they'll be done. Complaining won't make it go any faster.

@WizardStan

Just want to clear something up, this has nothing to do with my beliefs, my comments were my interpreation of what someone else was saying. The way you worded that last comment , could easily be misconstrued as me being upset at the wait. Especially if some people don't read the past several comments - which some don't

That said, going back to why I said it doesn;t have to be about value. Many people who get fed up with extended waiting still want the product ie it's not that the value has diminished for them , it's just a matter of them getting frustrated at the extended wait. That's all I saw m@t's comment being.

just to clear up something with WizardStan: AFAIK, vcoleiro1 hasn't preordered... nothing against him/her...
