X86 Wine would be cool on the Pandora and i hope to get the

better Versions from this Howto run in the Future ;)

When i should finish this, want i to share it with you all ^_^

Here is a Site how its explained to run the better/newer Wine, but i had not got this work for now:

http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17701

Happy experimenting, post your results here please and when anyone make a PND

with Qemu+Wine+Gecko+Needed Files should be many Pandora Users more Happy :)

@Ptitseb :

I saw that you(Ptitseb) experimentate in the Past with Wine on Arm,maybe you can bundle this with Qemu and a Gui.

@Mcobit:I found out that the newest Qemu should work when you recompile the newest GTK+ and Depencies,

got once the Qemu 1.5.0 work with that, but it was once Time and then destroyed i my OS and got it not

second time run, because i got newest GTK+ not more to finish compiling.

With your both Help is a real Chance to get X86 Windows Software to run with Qemu.

Newest Qemu and newest Wine on Pandora should be cooool :)

Winelibs works with arm. So if there is a windows application / game you can just links against the wine libs and it will work on arm.

I have that on my todo for some time now. Once I have something usefull, I'll package, sure :) For now, it's not usefull enough. But I did package 2 Winelib apps (Takaeda emulator and XMSol). I hope to work on that in the few weeks.

I have to compile a QEMU in usermode also, my previous build is too old now (and too unstable).

I recommend to use latest Git Version of Qemu.
I renember that 1.5.0 Had thad bad Error but Git Version worked once.
My Compiled Result was very unclean and i wanted to make it more clean, but after that failed i to compile all Things fresh from GTK+ :)
Winelibs sounds good, maybe i can use Libs from your PND for my Testings :)
Maybe i can compile latest Wine with X86 target system on the Pandora and run it with Qemu :)
I will try a little bit this Evening too.
Will trying too get Qemu 1.5 working again here.
When i have a Image File with the System working will i share it with you all :)

So with this I could start .exe files witout an immage of Windows (like real Wine).

That would be really awesome.

Thats the main idea :)

Lunixbochs tried it too and if he can make his libgl work with this... Did anyone say Halflife?...

Did you read that Link?

Here works it VERY faster and smoothly.

What i made was only first tests from this Site because there are older Files precompiled:

(was more easy for a noob like me)

I see Future for that Project, then can we possible play Games Like Halflife(Software Renderer)

or the real RPG Maker Games, maybe sometime Ragnarok Online(when the 3D work someday)

The Video was only a first Step and there are much optimations possible ^_^

Shure will it be not same as real Windows on your PC,but when it work faster than Qemu Images have we a real Goal :D

And 3D is easier possible as 3D in pure Qemu Guests ^_^

The Question is not are the Pandora Powefull enough?
The real Question is are we good enough to optimize that :)

For now, everything that use DirectX (beeing Direct2D or Direct3D) use OpenGL, so it will be slow without GLES on Wine (doesn't exist) or linuxbloch libGL running. Even if a game is software rendering, as long as it use DirectX for blitting, it will be slow. So, unfortunatly, I'm not sure Halflife will be be runneable at first... But SDL or plain GDI games will be ok. Not a lot of them I'm afraid.

But, let's have Qemu Userspace + Wine running, that's first step. We will figure out next steps later... :)

Thats right Ptitseb,Step by Step ;)

And maybe it open a Door to manyyy Windows Applications who dont need 3D or Acceleration.

You wanted Skype or other Messangers?

Applications who are Windows X86 only?

Someone called Bible Reader Apps or Irvan View on the Pandora ^_^

Not only Games.....

....and Wine support your Touchscreen too ;)

Now does this mean I would have to install slackware or could this run natively?

For me i need Slackware because its a Full Distro and mostly Software are inside what i need.

Maybe with Codeblocks PND possible too on the Normal Pandora OS,

but integrated Dev System love i more than external PNDs.

Maybe sometime thay make a Installationsroutine to Install Codeblocks realy in

a SD based Pandora OS.

For me its not possible to get it run under Pandora OS now,but for others who have a

complete Pandora Dev SD Card will it be possible

My knowledge is not good enough, that why i use Slackware, nealry all important Libs/Tools are inside it ;)
