Zodiac Doom

Technically the SNES was far better, but in my opinion SEGA have always done better games compared to Nintendo which has ALWAYS been kiddy orientated.
Sure SuperMarioWorld is good - But give me sonic anyday

SEGA always had best software

yeah SEGA ROCKS im not so old that i can say what was better at the time the megadrive and the snes got released but i played the snes and the mastersystem and i can say that the MegaDrive ROCKS :DDD
SNES sure got good games (FF series secred of mana) but sonic roxx :DD
and i liked the graphix of the Megadrive

SEGA RULZ

:p

I'd go with the Megadrive over the Snes anyday.

The majority (Not all, just the majority) of great games for the Snes are RPGs. I'm not an RPG fan.

Gimme Super Hang-On anyday.

sega and nintendo should merge into a super company.

SEGA-NINTENDO Japan.

has a nice ring to it, doesn't it.

Super shenmue smash brothers.
chrono sonic.
jet set f zero

the list goes on

Megadrive vs SNES? Psh, the real fights were between the C64 and the Spectrum and then later, WWII - the almight Amiga and the cowardly snivelling Atari ST. :D
True that.

I grew up around the Spectrum. Great thing that.

And the Atari ST. Never owned a C64 OR Amiga.

It looks like the GBA version stretched to 480*320, horrible! Can't believe they are charging for it.

Have to see what I can do about it.

GPdoom is by me, rob and tom, and is much better than the Z version ;)

So you are going to run off to make Zodiac stuff? Is ther any chance that GPDoom would get a couple of touch ups? Although it is great now, and free. Or maybe do a Hexen port or something? I don't see the logic of helping out the Zodiac so quick since you don't even sell those, it would only hurt the 2-3 GP32 sales that you could get. <_<

What a shame to sell such a crappy conversion!!!

Will the users be able to use PWADS with Z version?
If not IT'S A SHAME to PAY 30 dolls for a GBA stretched version witout PWAD support!!!

Your GP Doom Craig is amazing. ;)
It can use only the wads that are renamed to "DoomII.wad" I think. That is pretty good except that it is a blocky mess. The Zodiac Duke looked good though.

So it can read WADS merged with PWADS?
As the WADS were before on GP32 (doom2.wad merged with dukegp.wad for example)... so can you play your own WADS or is it ONE packed file that doesn't allow you to play standard WADS?

Chill out for f*** sake. A good thread is a good thread.

But to stay on topic: I cannot believe they are going to charge cash for that.

Also someone mentioned doom on the speccy, Iv'e got a version but with no monsters :( was there another released? Iv'e got a wolf clone built into a c64 demo, pretty good but blocky.

As for format wars....the Amiga one the 16bit wars (in Europe) one of the top selling home machines from 1986 to 1994 (games shops stopped selling the software, In about 1996, remember having to take the stock off the shelves *sniff*). The ST was just a super spectrum (although I had one and have fond memories of it)

The speccy version of Doom was never finished and yup your right never had monsters either. If memory serves correctly it was basically a technical demo by one of the speccy scene groups just to see if they could do it.

ST was just a super speccy - Both even had the same sound chip and lets be honest didnt have a hope in hell of competing with the Amiga.

Main reason a lot of the earlier games as similar was purely down 2 the fact that the ST versions were written first and then lazly ported.

And for the record there was also a version of Doom on the Amiga - and very good it was as well

(had to stay slightly in topic!)

Some people (like me) would like to back to the original subject, that's what we originally came for!
Because of you I can't get answered. :(
If you want to change the subject nature, create a new topic!.

I've got a Zodiac2 and bought Doom 2. The only WAD files I've found that work with this Doom 2 version are: the Doom95 Full Version of Hellraiser TC and the Gold Add-On Version to Doom2 to the Extreme. (To get these to work, I had to rename them to DOOM2.WAD.) I tried most all the WAD files at DoomWadStation, and those are the only ones I found that worked. Not good at all. :(

Anyone have any recommendations on other links to WAD files?
