Mystery Of The Fday Reveiled

Ok so, he has a few characters running across the top, cute, but I don't know why I would "jump for joy" it isn't that great

haha, you have to roll over the retrodev logo at the top to see Samus run across the top. Thing is, Samus was also on the NES and GB, so, just because he is using the SNES sprite, it doesn't mean much... plus it's been there forever.

It was an alright idea though. ;)

Anyway, I'm still hopeful it will be SNES.

Yeah, and just because it is Samus doesn't mean anything other than he likes the character, or maybe he just happened to have that particular animation laying around.

People are reading to much into things and thinking too much. 13 emus instead of 12, Samus animations. Sometimes things like that mean nothing.

The way he was talking I thought the banner was going to say something like "Suprise! fDay is tomorrow!" or something like that.

So he IS definatley doing a PCE emu though???

I didn't even know there WAS an fPCE.

This could be fantastic news for me at least well and any other big PCE fans...

Can anyone confirm if there will be an fPCE or not? Anyone beta testing this one? How well does it work?

EDIT: okay I found that link to the interview Hooka did with Ryleh, he does mention fPCE32.... SWEEEET!! I HOPE it is a little faster and more compatible than GPEngine and finally we'll have SRAM and save states!!! Neutopia 1 and 2 YESSSSSSSS!!!

For everyone speculating about fSNES well he says right there in the interview that he's not gonna be porting fSNES... I quote "I'm not including some dropped private ports..... fSNES which never displayed any interesting thing."

So whatever the 13th emu is does not seem to be fSNES, and whatever it is he seems to have missed it in his list that he gave for that interview. Seems the 13th one is not an emu at all but rather an app, fOGG32. You guys should just stop speculating and read the darn interview here.

That interview is 11 months old. Knowing Rlyeh I wouldn't be suprised if he's started half a dozen ports since then :).

Ah I didn't know that....

well then who knows, but I still say that means fSNES not a big possibility. I also still say that anyone holding out for full speed SNES emulation with sound w/o OC'ing to rediculous speeds is probably wasting their time. But reading that interview, it seems that fMAME is a distinct possibility for the mysterious '13th emu'. And with all the talk of sharing cores, like the Z80 and such, between Ryleh and Reesy, and possible benefits that would have to the speed in MAME, I'm thinking that Franxis' MAME port was just the tip of the iceberg of what we will see with MAME on the GP.

fMame is already in the list of 12. From that interview, Rlyeh mentioned work on another emulator (x68000 based). Could this be... a Sharp x68000 emulator? :D

:)

EDIT: Rlyeh also mentioned that Bubble Bobble was one of his favourite games for Mame. Oh Joy :D

is the x68000 this motorola thing which is also in the negeo ? :)
or am i talking pure bullshit ;O

See quote from Rlyeh below:-

"Rlyeh: Top secret! Wait some weeks please, I need a little more time!! :D Btw, the 68000 system is not a neogeo port. As I said before I ported that already :)"

:)

EDIT: Btw, what is fOGG32?

fOGG32... OGG sound file player?

x68000 CPU was used in several home consoles and computers, including the Genesis/Mega Drive and Neo Geo.

Sorry, still none the wiser . What file formats would this sound player play?

:)

I think I remember hearing that Rlyeh scrapped fOGG because a great OGG player (SvOrbis) already existed on the GP32.

He specifically stated he was finishing 13 emulators, so the thirteenth emulator is probably.. an emulator. What emulator that will be, though, who knows?

*excited* :D

Never heard of that extension.

:)

Its another digital audio format. Like MP3 but smaller. No point in re-encoding to .ogg, unless you can encode straight from the uncompressed version, and then you're not re-encoding.

I want to know more about those little avatars that talk. They seem kind of useless, yet kind of fun as an easter egg or something. It adds a bit of personality. The new menus are beautiful, too. I don't know, what else is there to talk about? Let's theorize about the avatar things.
