Any ideas whats happening ?

In my megadrive directory i have DrMDx (which works great) and DrMDv5b5 (the latest version)

I'm still on Firmware 1.4

When i run the latest DrMD (as i want to use the TV Out) i select the rom / megadrive then pick a game

Says unzipping rom for a split second and then just a blank screen, nothing happening.

The roms are in roms/megadrive so i select the folder route myself. Very weird

Any ideas ?

It is a bug due to the squidge hack. Sometimes it will do that while loading. You have to just keep trying.

I had the same problem, i solved it by upgrading to 2.0.

Believe me, Squidge's hack makes it worth it :D

Yeah, even on FW 2.0 Squige make the GP2x Lock sometime

- Most of time on Shiinig force 2.. but other games seem to be ok

The biggest problem for me is, that sound is lost after saving a game. I save a game, return into game and sound is lost. Only one continuous tone can be heard. Even after restart of drmd/gp2x and loading state the sound still doesn't work so there must be something wrong with save states in this new verion of drmd, because it never happened to me in prior versions.

I hope it will be repaired, because it's a really big flaw in my eyes. :(

Thanks for your replies. Put on firmware 2.0 and the latest Megadrive emulator seems more stable with the games. Still get a fair few going to a black screen (Battle Squadron) but i'll try it with another rom etc

I have the same problem (firmware 2.0). Hopefully Reesy will fix this bug.

Fistly, great work on the emulator Reesy.

I've been experiencing another problem in addition to the locking up when selecting a rom.

In certain games (specifically Fantastic Dizzy, and Xenon 2) is seems as if there is some sort of auto repeat occuring when you press a key. This causes jerky movement in game and also in game menus when you toggle an option it will toggle back and forth quickly. This didn't happen in the old verion of DrMD. I've only noticed it since beta5. I'm not sure if the problem is in beta4 as I didn't use it.
Both of the games I've had the problem with are PAL games. Could this have anything to do with it?
Has anyone else seen this problem?

I also haveing a problem that same as eso and adamc, I have founded out that it is not a problems in the versions before the beta. I think that once the green xs have been brought back, there will be no problems such as these.

Yes very true the green Xs are a major part of Genesis emulation. Removing them was just asking for trouble.

That is nice, I will be looking forward to the next release when the green x's have been added again.

 I was being sarcastic, not sure if you got that at all. The green Xs will not be making a return...and what the fuck is up with your sig? Do you have size issues, I mean come on thats taking the piss. I've now had to disable viewing signatures because of that shit...some people.

To be honest I wish Reesy would load that graphic from an external PNG file so it could be customized rather than incorporating it into the GPE executable. For example I'd probably replace it with solid black so it just stops distracting me. :)

Will this happen in least?

That Kgcs10 guy reminds me of a Canadian I know. He's incredibly dumb, yet he wants to become president of the US just so that he can blow up Bangkok (the old 'What's the captial of Thailand?' gag).

Yeah, this is a great emulator! But it does seem to have some issues with save states:

Phantasy Star 4 - freezes when state saved/loaded
Shining Force 1/2 - sound goes crazy when state saved/loaded
Ghouls and Ghosts - no sound after state saved/loaded

Add WonderBoy IV to that list. (hence I'm still playing that game on 5b2, but everything else on 5b5)

This also happens with Sonic and Knuckles, Sonice Hedgehog 2, and Contra Hardcore.
