Is there anyway to make the screen brighter through the software?

Yes in the Games menu, go to options ->video setup->color correction and there you'll find Gamma, contrast and brightness.

Thank you that helped me a lot I didn't think to check there because I figured that it changed other stuff. :D

Some tips about this port that others might find interesting, i'm nto sure if others knows it. So i'll just post them here.
  • Change right nubs to mouse via Options -> Nubs, to use right nubs for camera.
  • Install Timidity for Sound Support

Nice, will also try this port when I get my Pandora. Onto my old GP2X I've played a "normal"classic Duke 3D port but I know EDuke32 from my PC. I like the new options for "true" 3D Levels (looking correctly up and down etc...) I guess I also can enable this onto the Pandora. But how compatible are the other optional EDuke gimmiks like high res textures and 3D sprites, better lightning 'n stuff? ^^
