Ok so look heres the deal.......if i get a normal job....ill lose money on financial aid so unless i get a full time super job... deal is i lose out...SO If anyone knows something cheaper than the Pandora(still in the plan just....further away)music movies games exdra im thinking in the $50 range or if you have like some kind of legit job you need done idk that would also work.....

I don't think anything's $50, per se. Your cheapest option is probably a Dingoo.

If it's an absolute priority that you spend less than $50, you're better off sticking with your PC.

I spotted this in DealExtreme's "New Arrivals" section. It's $34, at the time of writing, but I have no idea if it's any good, or entirely suited to what you want to use it for.

hm that is just what i need till i get a pandora is that site reputable i haven't heard of it before?

I've bought random doodads from them a lot of times. They can sometimes be a teeny bit problematic (for example, if something is out of stock and doesn't appear to be returning and I've ordered it, there have been occasions where I've had to chase it up to get a refund rather than them telling me it's gone, but they are pretty quick about that once you get hold of them), but they're generally very good, especially considering their prices.

Do take care to read their descriptions carefully, though. (I take it that you're only after NES and GB/GBC emulation, in this instance, games-wise?)

GB emulation ehhh i have a GB color, NES with movie and music now....thats pretty good for that price from the other stuff i have seen

dont complain that it takes a month for an item to arrive from dealextreme, ive had items delivered 5 months after ordering, they may not be quick, but theyre very reliable, and 95% of the time cheaper than anything else you can find, walmart cant compete with dx

According to the site ill have to wait till after the Chinese new year but i agree i was looking around omg a usb mini fridge for $20!

ya dx is great, its made its name from the console modding equipment and nds flashcarts for years, but only a few months ago, ninty started the throwin down the gauntlet on the bigger nds flashcart suppliers, and dx was the first to go, but because of the flashcarts, its grown quite nicely in popularity and has a buttload of great items for dirt cheap, but make sure to read the comments people post, and remember that you are buying chinese knock-offs much of the time, though dx is very good at also labeling their stuff as genuine or 3rd party fake, so dont expect to get a genuine sony ps3 dualshock controller for $25, and dont expect to get a 18000mah external battery for $18, if youre in a country where customs cause problems, dx has a gift option for every item for 1 cent, and always has free shipping, doesnt matter if its a 70cent piece, or a $700 item

Hm theres no reviews on it i have till the end of chinese new years to decide but this looked pretty good as an experienced XD shopper what would you say?

seems like a regular mp4 player, with minor gaming controls, as far as i go, it would never even leave its box in my arms, as even my nds/psp/gba/mp3 player can do more than this it seems, and it sure wouldnt see the daylight once i get my pandora, youre much better off spending some more money and getting a dingoo, a380 just came out, theyre a great starters handheld with the opensource idea and to familiarize yourself with linux(dingux) and handheld emulation, and its got quite a nice community behind it, cant say that for the mp4 player as i have no idea what its name or or have never seen it before

I have looked at the dingoo it was my first choice(after pandora), course after a closer look idk this may just be me but that looks a lot like the face plate on some of the dingoos perhaps factory left overs? and yes btw i know all about linux. How much would you say a dingoo goes for? anyone on the fourms selling?

the dingoo a320 goes for $80 on dx, so they cant be that expensive used, and should be very easy to find, even on places like ebay, but as i said, new a380 is coming out now, so you can choose between those

You are probably better off purchasing a Wiz http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/retro-gaming/bfc7/ as it has an active development community; office, entertainment, and game apps are free, and it has PS1 support. Besides, it has a solid build quality and support is readily available. As for random MP4 players and such, they are a dime a dozen. I'm in a bit of a financial bind myself, as student loan payoffs start soon. I'm sticking with my GBA SP and PSX until my Pandora arrives.

i cant say anything bad about wiz, as one, i dont have one, and two im sure its even better than the dingoo, im just trying to point out to him the cheapest possibly product that actually has some use

There's a bunch of sites like Dealextreme. I often use Focalprice as well, check them out too, http://www.focalprice.com/

They have a bunch of cheap handhelds for under $50. Don't ask me how good they are though!
