Looks really cool what else is there to say :)

oh yeah he is using a pico projector (projected on ceiling) and a wii mote with it as well in the demo :)

Good stuff, we are hoping to show off more 3D on the Pandora in the coming weeks too now that the drivers are working.
 
Just so everybody knows, this is still only opengl ES 1.1 not a version ported to opengl ES 2.0

No beaglboarder don't want to overclock then it run as default clock 500MHz, the CPU is note used for this only the SGX.
Maybe the SGX is running not at full speed (110MHz), maybe at only 50MHz.

600MHz isn't overclocking, its the default.

And the CPU speed does matter, because this affects the GPU Mhz too. ;)

There's a post somewhere indicating the (as of that date) drivers were making the SGX run at half clock, that is, 55MHz. Not sure if that's the case in that video.

Also note that if it's a straight port, Ogre is doing a lot of floating point on the CPU as well. Something truly GLES2.0 should run faster.

Plus, I don't know what resolution the output in that video is; it's probably more pixels than 800x480.

From what I can make out in the high quality Youtube video, it seems to be running at 640 x 480. The dialog window in the first few seconds shows it.

the demonstrated functionality hardly uses any fpu at showtime - one was a demonstration of texture transformations (a matrix is passed to the gl), and the other was a skydome+static mesh demo - neither of which require much fpu, at least not on the client gl side.

judging by the fact its was running the standard desktop all the time, i would assume this was beagles native res under angstrom - 1024x768, IIRC. of course that is just a guess.

basically, i would attribute the slowdowns to whatever peculiarities the current omap3 sgx driver may suffer from, and potential momentary clocking regulations.

ed: duh. i forgot about ogres screen res choice in the setup dialog. so yeah, it could be anything. as MDave suggests above, could be 640x480.

It uses a pico projector, so resolution is limited to 640x480(IIRC, maybe slightly different, there is another post somewhere about Koen's SGX demo with the resolution mentioned)
