Pandora PNDManager

Just used the last version, was looking the detail of an app and it had 3 comments, went to the comment page, added one, returned to the detail page and it was showing 12 comments... returned to the comment page and there was the same 4 comments repeated for three times
Can confirm this bug — within a session, comments sometimes appear multiple times, sometimes only once — from earlier versions.
Trying to reproduce this, so far no luck. Any ideas to narrow it down?
EDIT: OK, now I got it to reproduce.

B-Zar can you update the first post of this thread for the update history ? It's going to be complicated to track back all changes if you online announce them in every 10th page or something.

Is it possible to make some minor suggestions to adjust the interface ? (just about the margin and spaces here and there). Just a few comments about polishing I have. Let me know B-Zar.

Since visual stuff is usually something you do by eye (try stuff out until you like it), it'd be better if someone could try to modify the QML files directly and then send me a patch. But if there's some specific things with specific fixes you have in mind I can consider adding them with other changes.

Ideally yes but that's a lot more work - it means I would have to modify the QML file, recompile the stuff before I can even test it.

I'll try to give you screenshots with exact instructions for proposed adjustments, instead - we'll see if that works for you.

No recompilation needed. PNDManager (IIRC) creates a user-customizable version of the UI in appdata, which you can enable in settings.cfg using the "interface" option. But if screenshots work better for you, I'm okay with that too.

Here is a (hopefully) new feature request:

How about making installed PNDs browsable by category? (or add a filter "installed" to the categories screen)

The current list of installed PNDs on my Pandora is almost congruent with the repo  :D ... and that makes browsing them a little difficult.

Oh, and could you display the filename of the PND on the PNDs info screen :)

I updated pndmanager to the latest version today and it is crashing when trying to refresh the package list.

1ghz model with latest firmware (1.55)

already deleted its appdata content.

did you restart the pandora after deleting those directories? My SD cards are 64GB and they are both heavily loaded too.  Only 1gb left on each.

Maybe one have to be sure to delete those folders in ALL the SD cards

Yes restarted several times..

Yes deleted it on both SD cards.. and rebooted after..

And yes I checked for any lingering directories in the /mnt/utmp folder.

^ Started working for me after deleting pndmanager and libpndman from appdata and PND from utmp. I don´t know, maybe there is a bugged copy of pndmanager somewhere in your cards.

I've started clean on both cards deleted appdata, libpndman and the utmp folder.. It's devoid of anything relating to pndmanager.. It works fine when the offending card is taken out.

I'm copying the contents of that SD card to my laptop.. I'll slowly populate the SD card over again after a format to see what is causing the issue.. I think it's a specific PND mucking up the works.

Hi there,

I have a problem with libpndman, maybe you will be able to help me before I reflash. I can't get pndmanager (nor milkyhelper, for that matter) to scan for locally installed PNDs. when local.db is created, it is 83 bytes long and essentially empty.

- I already tried restarting

- /mnt/utmp folder is empty

- nothing suspicious in the logs (can post if necessary)

- only one SD card inserted, desktop and menu are populated correctly, installed PNDs run fine

- when I install a new PND from the repo, it gets into local.db, and stays there till I remove the libpndman folder. After folder removal, the local.db becomes empty again.

Does anyone have a clue?

For those of you having crashes, I've posted a debug build to the software news thread. Try to reproduce the issue with it and report back with the pndrun output from /tmp
