What About The Casing?

I know I'm not the only one that's not expecting some fancy box made specifically for the Pandora (as nice as it would be, it's a waste of time & money at this point, IMO"].
Nope, there's at least 2 of us. I couldn't care less about the box design, so long as it gets here safely.
As I've said before, so long as it's not just a plain brown box, I'll be happy. Certain types of "things" come in plain brown boxes, if you know what I mean. Things you don't generally like to show off.
A plain white box with "Pandora" hastily scribbled on it would be just fine by me. :) Or a FedEx box or it's ilk.

My shoes came in a plain brown box IIRC, and I'm not too ashamed to be seen wearing them... thinking about it there appears to be some kind of reverse-worth design going on with boxes. The smaller and cheaper items in my life (MP3 player, mobile phone) came in much richar, prettier boxes than more expensive items (PC, wide screen LCD TV). I'd be perfectly happy with a plain brown box myself. Better would be, well, better, but it's most definately the device I want rather than the carton.

PORN! I was talking about porn! Which is always delivered in a plain brown box with absolutely no markings on it whatsoever other than the address.
Ermm... as Hollywood would have me believe >.>

When the DS phat shipped to the press their boxes played music and had flashing lights there was also tinsel. *hint*

Although the pandoras demographic would still probably purchase it if there was no box at all. Perhaps a Bag instead of a Box?

I remember when I ordered my Chumby (flash player in an internet box, made by a small business, open source, similar background to the Pandora's) it came in a plain brown box with it's logo printed on, and all the separate components were in little burlap (I think it was burlap) sacks. That could be an option for OP.

I'm not expecting a box that isn't a fedex box. However, I would really like one.

Actually in my emails from OpenPandora, shipping is via UPS...
so I am, and I guess there must be some other members too, are expecting a UPS box.

So long as it doesn't come in an impossible-to-open clamshell blister pack I'll be happy.
I got one of these a while back: http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/tools/9fb2/

It glides through blister packs like a knife through butter.

I am looking forward to a brown cardboard box that is completely disposable and recyclable, probably filled with foam peanuts or something. As that's what I would guess that we're getting.

I would like to mention the packaging for the Kindle DX, which I thought was interesting because the entire package is disposable and recyclable. What you notice is that even though the inside of the box is all done up, and there's a little cardboard tray for the kindle to sit in, you end up tossing the whole thing, since it's plain brown on the outside, and you need to rip the cardboard to get it open. So, you come away from the whole thing basically ignoring the packaging and focusing solely on the device. Going a bit further, it seems like a waste of money to bother with the packaging if the intent is for it to be disposable. Just leave it as a brown box, keep the tray, because that actually has a function, but don't bother with the fancy print and all that.
