Real shame, but it could be worse. Trey, major thumbs up for helping the team. And at least now the crackdowns will begin.

The bit I love was how you "know" they are working on your boards now because when YOUR representative was walking through the building, on a pre-arranged, highly-contentious visit, presumably escorted by the guy in charge, the people were working on YOUR kit. I think you'd have to be terminally stupid for your staff to NOT be working on fixing the thing you are about to demonstrate that you've been deficient in.

And if this is a HUGE job for CC (as stated by ED, e.g. their delivery estimates being over-optimistic given the staff / production rates witnessed), would take MONTHS to set up elsewhere, etc. then you're *NOT* smallfry to them. Especially if the are producing Beagleboards etc. on the side as well - neither is a "small" project, although they aren't a million PCB's to go into a Nintendo games console, either. You're their target customer, most probably.

You've been pushed to the back of the queue because you're seen as gullible. How many Beagleboards etc. are being delivered from that place? I bet they don't have the same problems. And just what would TI do to them? Not the company's fault you couldn't get your parts to them in a reasonable window for them to work, right? I think TI will probably laugh that off and still be recommending this place to their customers.

Still smacks of farce rather than force.

My faith in the project has grown a lot over the past 2 years. Words can't express how much respect I have for 'a bunch of amateurs' pulling this thing off. Yes, we were all naive and there were lots of setbacks, but the determination to finish this project is astonishing.

The rollercoaster ride we were on since 2008 is worth the money I invested by itself. I'm having a great time following the project with all the ups and downs. IF this project for some reason still fails in the end, I consider my money gone and will make no effort to get it back. (sorry ED, my money's with Craig. Will push some money your way though if that happens).

Also: bad circuitco, bad.

Now let's move on! :)

So what's the shipping situation for the boards that are currently finished? Are there going to be periodic shipments as more are completed, or just one big shipment for all 2000?

I'd like to see the ~500 completed boards they have shipped out immediately, so we can get things rolling again.

Everybody lies

The thing is, those 500 boards aren't all complete, they're "in various states". As in states of completeness, not states of the union (although at this point, that wouldn't surprise me too much).

Ed,

I would agree with Alex777,

how about the board company send the 500 already finished board to the UK, so more padora's will go into the Wild, I think considering the board company told us some lies they could make it up a little by sending 500 (finished) boards every week (they say they could finish 500 in a week) It wil keep the things rolling (at a slow speed) but that's beter then waiting.

I know you all are trying you best and I (and many more) appreciate that, It just another slap into our face, It's not your fault just another company who isn't telling the truth shame on them, they could told us the truth earlier it wouldn't hold me back in waiting for my pandora, I'm sticking with you guys the pandore will/is awesome and can't wait to show it off to my friends.

grtz

Nice idea, except that you need 500 finished boards for that:

There are about 500 boards there, in various states (some completely finished, some finished except for the nubs, some had all the SMT parts on but were missing the rest, etc.)

Ok didn't read that correctly my fault, but shipping finshed boards (with nubs) in smaller

batches would be beter than 1 big batch of 2000 boards, do you agree.

don't wan't to get dust on the boards that have been finished because the production of 2000 boards would take 4 weeks maybe longer ;)

Hard to disagree with that. It would increase cost a bit for the team, but at least they might ship some units late December/early January.

Wow, that's really aggravating. I'd suggest you file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and file a report at http://www.ripoffreport.com/ so other people dealing with this company might be more cautious when dealing with them in the future. You could also leave a review for the business on google maps. I'm tempted to do things more malicious, but for the time being I think it's best to give them a chance to fulfill their end of the bargain, and if they screw us again, start the real fuckery.

I think the board company have to pay for the extra cost, they said that there were 2000 boards finished already....

they were not...

they owe us something... I believe.

That all sounds like a really bad idea. It's bad enough for CircuitCo that there are currently search engine bots sucking up pages on this forum that contain the name of their company, along with words like "unreliable" and "liars".

But I agree that they do owe OPT something: a written contract.

Edit: Speaking of CircuitCo, apparently they have a Youtube channel. They do seem to have a ridiculously thorough testing and inspection process, I'll give them that.

How's this for further bad luck? -

When initially looking at this thread, i had just made a cup of tea (yes i know, not a good idea around PC's) slammed my mug down in frustration on my monitor table = smashed my computer desk (glass top) fried PC (in for repair now) short circuited electricity supply (had to pay for emergency call out) scalded my right hand (required a hospital visit & now typing with left hand) & BROKE MY PACMAN MUG!!

Despite all this i still have a (mostly) optimistic disposition, i just wish i had been able to capture it all and at least make some money on YBF etc..

EDIT:

Anybody else have any associated tales of woe.. ?

We asked for a 500 boards shipment as soon as possible.

We never intended to wait for the full 3000!
