Psx4gp2x Dynarec Status Update

Woow!!
Just tried Breath of Fire 3, it is very fast! playable WITH sound, from 15 to 30+ FPS!!
Even faster without sound!
(270Mhz, ram tweaks, interlace 1)

I'm impressed because it is an almost-full-3D game, with 2D characters! And sound is not so bad ;)

Too bad I don't have a camera or I would have posted a video!

Hope you had a nice easter week-end Zod, either that or non-stop coding since you only posted once since saturday ;)

Here even More Video's ( These are recorded with a TV-Out cable and a PC TV-Card )

Best way is to download it and then view it.

Yay! Breath of Fire 3! Must try throwing this onto a card... the psx breath of fire games were imo the best in the series (especially 3), and, tbh, I think I preferred BoF3 to FFVII (sacrilege though it is to say so lol).

I got very sick a few days ago, and I'm just now starting to feel better. As I catch up with work I'll get more time spent on this project. :)

Syndicate Wars?! I love Syndicate Plus, cool news!

________Great speed for worms, this game is so fast, i think even on low OC you can play this full speed after a bitt clocking ^^

Last buch of vids for tonight ^^ Enjoy

Guys, please test psx4gp2x with speeds that many people can get like 255MHz or so. Most of us (I think) can't go beyond 260-265 and 255 is almost standard so seeing how something works with 20MHz more isn't really reliable :(

Take it easy - your health is more important - get well soon!
Ease yourself back into as you feel ready; we'll still be here :)

 110%??
Why so much?
Performances are way better with underclocking!

270mhz Interlace 1, I get 13fps in RE @ 110%, against 22fps @ 25%, up to 30fps depending on the screen ;)

take care ZodTTD!

I was a little dissapointed (jealous :) ) at the nice overclock as it means that us poor old 260 Mhz people can't really judge how the game will be.

still, it looks awesome, and I have found a PSX emulator for the PC too, so I can enjoy slow PSX games on the move and fullspeed ones at home! AWESOME! Its nice to re-discover Crash Bandicoot 2.

one question, it said altering the vsync makes the game less stable, but does this mean graphically (shimmering or something) or in terms of crashing?

heh, I never thought I would be interested in PSX emulation on the GP2X, now look at me :D

Crash bandicoot2 running on the gp2x would be so cool! That was my first game for the ps1 :D

sometimes high overclocking realy helps, Wipe Out, Syndicate Wars, and Resident Evil did feel much smoother and a bitt faster on 110% then on lower clock speeds.

But i agree most games are good and max fps with around 40 %

Exophase wrapped his claws back around gpSP. ;P
So my homebrew freetime has been focused on psx4all.
